Powder House Fax 775-273-7937 email: powderhouse@gbis.com If traveling into us from out of town, please call 775-273-2709, to check if store is open.
The Powder House opened in May of 1998. The store originated in a 40' metal van, warm in the summer and cold in the winter. The previous two weeks in front of June 6, 2001, Steve, his dad, Emile and friends Fred and Margaret and myself worked on taking the dock off around this building in preparation for the move out to Irish American.
The Powder House was moved into the front of the 24 foot wide x 100' long building. The store was 9' wide by 24' long. In 2008, Proprietor Steve pulled out the old walk-in box and the store was remodeled into about 30' x 24' area for 720 square feet holding six gun racks and nine counters.
The Slide Show below is of The Big Move on June 6, 2001 from the center of Lovelock to Irish American Road. These pictures were taken by Geraldine's Uncle Neil Talcott for posterity. Scroll over the upper left hand corner of the first picture to play the slideshow.
